Charley found her way home!
Wednesday morning about 3 am, Darrell jumped up out of bed and went downstairs. By the time I figured out what was going on, I heard Charley crying. I went downstairs and went out the back door and didn't see anything. I realized that Darrell had the front door open and he was pulling Charley up and over the fence of our next door neighbors. He said when he opened the door, there was a note on the door from our neighbor that said one of our dogs had gotten into their backyard and was hanging out with their dog. Darrell had heard her crying and when he went outside and started calling for her, she came over to their fence. They have a wooden fence that needs to be fixed, but luckily, there was a gap in the fence where Darrell could get a hold of Charley and work her up and over the fence. She was pretty dirty and when she came in, I fed her a little and she drank ALOT of water. Then, she just cruised up stairs and got in her bed like it was no big deal. I gave her a on Wednesday evening and there were 2 big fleas on her, but other than that, she was fine. So, now Charley is back to staying in her kennel during the day and Cali is hanging out inside the house during the day. Probably a good idea any way give the ridiculously hot weather we have had the past few days. We have also put a padlock on the fence, so if the cable folks want to come over, they will have to call us.
I am SO glad that the baby beagle is back. It's been such a long, stressful week. I am so exhausted from being out of our normal routine, since we had family in town early last week, spent the later part of the week getting the new car, and spending 2 days this week looking for Charley.
Darrell picked up my old Accord from the transmission shop where it had been since last Friday getting the transmission rebuilt. Darrell drove it to work this morning and said it's running fine. We will keep that for a while longer now and drive it occasionally and then sell it in a year or so.
This is going to be a fun weekend. I'm getting a hair cute tomorrow afternoon, which is always exciting. I haven't gotten my hair cut since right before I went back to work back in early March. The big event tomorrow is my friend Tammy and Jon's wedding. So very excited about this! We are going to the wedding and then the wedding dinner is at Sienna, (http://www.sienarestaurant.com/) which I have heard is fantastic. Plus, we have a really cute wedding outfit for Reagan that I can hardly wait to put on him! There will be lots of photos posted soon!!

Charley is MISSING!!!
Yesterday evening when I got home from work, the gate to the backyard was open. I went in the house and opened the back door and only Cali came in. I called for Charley and nothing. Darrell came home shortly afterwards and he and Reagan got in the truck and went and looked for her.
I walked all around the neighborhood and looked for her as well. When Darrell and Reagan got back, Darrell took Cali out with him and they walked all around the neighborhood and didn't see her.
I walked all around the neighborhood and looked for her as well. When Darrell and Reagan got back, Darrell took Cali out with him and they walked all around the neighborhood and didn't see her.
I went into work for a couple of hours, but left about 10 so that I could come look for her. I just feel sick right now!! With the temperatures reaching into the 100's, I am just hoping that she can find some water. When I left work, I went straight to the Town Lake Animal Shelter. Unfortunately, they didn't open until 11:30. I had a picture of her at my desk at work, so I had taken that with me and stopped off at Walgreens to make some posters to put around the neighborhood.
I got home and called the microchip company and let them know that she is missing. They will alert all vets and animal shelters in the area that we are actively looking for her. I took Cali with me and we walked all around and put the posters up. I saw a few people out in their yards, so I made sure to let them know that we are looking for her. I went back over to the Town Lake Animal Shelter and looked at all of the strays that had been picked up, but no Charley. I filled out a missing animal report at the animal shelter and they said they said that I should check the website every day to see if anyone has brought her in.
After that, I went over to Mom's and hung out with Reagan for a while and Mom came over and drove around the neighborhood for an hour and a half. She said that she kept calling her from the car while she was driving around and said that she passed by one house and she heard what sounded like a beagle barking. Mom took a flyer and put it on that person's door. The lady called me this afternoon and told me that she has a beagle too and she saw Charley yesterday about 1:30 and thought it was her beagle and kept calling her and she wouldn't come. She said she even went in her backyard to make sure her dogs were there an when she noticed that they all were, she went back out to see if she could get Charley, but she was gone. I had another call from a girl who said she saw her yesterday evening a couple of blocks away from our house and she called for her and tried to catch her, but she ran into the woods.
After this call, Mom came with me back over to the house and she stayed with Reagan while I went and looked again. I went over to the wooded area and I actually saw her!! I called her and she took off into the woods. I ran in the woods as well, but didn't see her again. I wandered all through the woods and called her and called her and nothing. I headed back to the house and decided that I was going to put some jeans on before going back into the woods. My arms and legs are all scraped up and covered in mosquito bites. I also out Cali on the leash and took her out there with me. We walked all over and looked everywhere and I never saw her again. Darrell had gotten off of work and when he saw that Mom had Reagan, he came right out to start looking again as well and actually met up with Cali and I. We walked all over the place and there were o signs of her.
The lady that I spoke to at the microchip company suggested that we leave a familiar blanket or toy out in front of the house. She said that she has heard of dogs being able to follow the scent home. We put her bed out in front of the house. Maybe when I get up in the morning little Charley will be sleeping on her bed in front of the house.
I am so distraught and just hope that she makes it home. We miss her very much!!

Rolling Both Ways
Friday evening, Reagan rolled from his back to his stomach for the first time. Here's the video of it.
Father's Day Weekend
I can't thank Darrell enough for being such a great husband and father. I am so lucky to be married to this amazing person who does so much for Regan and I. Reagan andI love you very much!! Today was pretty low-key. Darrell got up and went to the grocery store like he does every Sunday morning. While he was gone, I fed Reagan, cleaned out the fridge, and made coffee for us. We just lounged around for a while and then went out and ran some errands and went to lunch at Chili's. Here are my two men on their first father's day together.
Since Sunday is my Dad's golf day, Darrell, Reagan, and I took my Dad to lunch yesterday and hung out with him for a while.
Our friends Amanda and Max were at Amanda's parents house out in Bastrop, so we went and hung out with them late yesterday afternoon. Max, Amanda's parents, and her brother, Kyle, had gone kayaking on the Colorado River. Darrell, Reagan, and I hung out with Amanda and her little girl, Ella, while the othrs were gone. As soon as they got back, the guys grabbed their golf clubs and went out to play a quick 9 holes. We had figured that they wouldn't play golf since they had been out on the river for several hours and Darrell hadn't taken his clubs out, but Amanda's Dad had a bunch of extra clubs and were able to put a set together for Darrell. While they guys were out playing golf, Amanda, her mom, and I hung with the babies. Reagan got his first kiss from Ella. What a special day!

New Car!!
Darrell and I have been planning on buying a new car at the end of the summer. We had casually been looking on-line, just to see what we wanted and we had narrowed it down to the
I have a couple of friends that have CR-V's and I also have a friend that has a CX7. All of the reviews and pricing came back very similar. In the end, we decided on the CR-V. My last two cars have been Hondas (a 1999 Civic and a 2000 Accord) I LOVED the Civic, until it met it's demise by being rear-ended (and totalled) by a Corvette on MoPac. Then came the Accord, which have also been very happy with. When Mom, Reagan, and I went up to the Dallas area about a month ago, the transmission started slipping a little bit once we got to the town where our family lives. It was fine in on the highway, but it was in town in the stop and go traffic that it didn't want to slip into the lower gears. Since we have been nearing the 100 degree temperature mark, it seems to have gotten worse. When we went down to Gruene on Teusday, Darrell drove and he noticed too that it was getting worse. So, Wedenesday evening, we made a trip up to Round Rock Honda and checked out the CR-V's. I drove one and Thursday after work, we went and picked it up. Here it is in Glacier Blue Metallic (it looks silver in the photo, but it is actually a really pretty light blue.) our 2009 CR-V. I am so thrilled becuase it is my very first brand new car!
In Reagan news....the little guy learned a new trick today! He rolled from his back to his stomach. So, now that he can roll both ways, he is really starting to try and scoot himself. We will lie him on the floor and put his toys just out of his reach and he will scooch himself to try and reach for them. It's so fun to see him do new things every day!

Relatives!
On Sunday afternoon, my Uncle Jim and Aunt Betsy arrived from their two day car ride from Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, which is a suburb of Charleston. Jim is my Mom's older (and only) brother. It's been several years since we have seen them, so it has really been nice to visit with them. We had them over to our house Sunday evening and Darrell grilled some delicious fajitas.
Yesterday evening, we went to Salt Lick and had barbecue. Reagan was SO good the whole time we were there. I was holding him for a while and he grabbed my iced tea glass and pulled it over. He only got a little bit on him, but I was covered in tea!! I'm sure it will be the first of many spilled drinks. Here are some pictures of us eating some delicious barbecue!
Today, we went down to Gruene, wandered around the shops, and ate at the Grist Mill. Not long after we got there, we saw this awesome old car parked out front of Gruene Hall and a bunch of people taking pictures. While we were in Gristmill eating lunch, Darrell had gone back out to the car to get Reagan's carseat and told us that George Strait was out in front of the Hall sitting in the car. I got a photo of him when we were leaving! Here are some of our photos from the day. Yes....that is George Strait sitting in the car!!

Busy Weekend Fun!
Wow! What a great weekend! Friday evening, I had helped to plan a suprise birthday party for my friend Rachel's big 3-0. Here's all of us at Waterloo Ice House and there's our friends Thomas and Melissa hanging with Reagan.
Saturday was a day of pre-wedding girl fun for our friend Tammy, who is getting married on June 27. Tammy and Rachel are my two oldest friends. I've known Tammy since kindergarten and we have known Rachel since 7th grade.) We went out to lunch at Katz's Deli, had AMAZING 90 minute pedicures "Foot Facials" at Aziz (http://www.aziz.com/), and finished off with ice cream at Amy's Ice Cream. Then we headed back over to my place and played with Reagan for a while. Here we are before we left the house. Left to right me, Tammy, Nicholle (Tammy's soon to be step-daughter) and Rachel.

Before and After Pics
We didn't do all of the organization of the living room that I had hoped for this weekend, but the play yard was folded up and put away for the time being. We did pull some of the other things out that were hiding behind the tv. One of those items was Reagan's bouncer chair. He hadn't really sat in it too much since he was really tiny and then he would usually go right to sleep when we put him in it. Now, he is fascinated with the toys and can actually reach out and grab them. They are just attached with velcro, so he can pull them off and hold them. Here are pics of him then and now.
When Reagan was about a month old, my friend Amanda had brought us her little girl's swing. She didn't give it to us, per se...we are just storing it for her, in case she and Max have another baby eventually. (Ella just turned 1 on May 19.) It actually worked out well because we moved our swing upstairs and it's nice to have one upstairs and downstairs as well. Reagan still very much enjoys swinging and does it pretty much every day. Here he is in his swing when he was just a little bitty guy and here he is now taking a snooze in his downstairs swing.
In other news, we had to move Reagan to the next size in PJ's. His 3 months PJ's are now retired because they are too small. This was my very favorite pair of his newborn pj's and here he is in his new 6 month pj's that Darrell picked out for him.

Returning to Normal
Things have been pretty crazy since we got back from the family weekend. Since it was the last week of the legislative session, Darrell had a crazy week and worked until all hours of the night every night this past week. Reagan and I hardly saw him except for a few minutes in the when he would get Reagan ready and put him in my car in the morning. He worked all this weekend as well. Monday was the last session, so it was so nice to have him home and return to our normal schedule. Here is a picture of Darrell and Reagan on Saturday morning before Darrell left for work.
I spent Memorial Day doing some cleaning, building, and organizing. Mom came over and entertained Reagan while I got some stuff done. I cleaned up and did a little rearranging in the guest bedroom.
I built (put together) this cute little shelf in Reagan's room and got a new futon cover that matches Reagan's room perfectly.
The little shelf in Reagan's room took the place of the changing table. I moved the changing table downstairs and this weekend, we are going to do a little rearranging in he living room. We are very quickly running out of room in our living room as it looks like a baby explosion right now. We currently have a swing, exersaucer, and play yard in the living room. The plan is to fold up the play yard, since the only thing that we have been using it for lately is to change Reagan. That will add quite a bit of space. Since I've got the changing table down here now, I can put everything we need in the fabric bins that I have under there. It looks much more organized than the little wire shelf that we had before. We keep pretty much all of his clothes, pj's, and towels in downstairs because that's where we use everything. Since Reagan has been enjoying his time on the floor so much and is starting to scoot around a little, we figured that we will get an area rug for him to hang out on instead of putting down the blanket everytime we put him down. Here are some pics of him this evening hanging out on his blanket.
