Spinning a Letter

Reagan is just fascinated with this toy!!

Reagan has become quite independent since turning 6 months only a week ago! He has all of the sudden started holding his own bottle and he is sitting up really well. He still can't figure out how to get into the sitting position on his own, but he doesn't just fall over as soon as you put him up now. He is also scooting around quite a bit. Darrell got this cool little floor mat that is nice and squishy for him and doesn't hurt him when he falls over. He also really likes the texture and bright colors of it.

Yesterday, Darrell and I went to see my Dad and Reagan rolled all around the carpet over at his house. He was just laughing and squealing and having a great time. My friend Tammy's 30th birthday is tomorrow and we had she and her husband Jon, and our friend Rachel and Matt over yesterday evening for pizza. We all had such a great time and Reagan just loved all of the attention. We stayed up way too late and we have had very lazy day of sleeping off and on today.

We did have the appointment with Reagan's urologist on Monday and we have the surgery scheduled for September 1. We will got back on August 27th for our final pre-op appointment. We know this is going to be tough for our little guy, but it is much better that we take care of it now than wait until he is older.

Some photos from the last few days

You can sort of see Reagan's hair is this one.

Darrell has taught Reagan to give him high fives.

6 months old!

Today, Reagan celebrates his half birthday. Too bad the poor little guy got three shots and an oral vaccine today. He is now 26" long, 15 pounds 9 ounces, and has a head circumference of 44 cm. The doctor said his is still small for his age. He grew like he should in the height range, but he didn't put on much weight since his 4 month check up, which surprises us because we have been feeding him baby food since he was 4 months. She told us to start feeding him more food and to give him snacks between his meals. He loves his food, so it is never a problem to get him to eat. The doctor also told us that we should start slowly introducing him to a sippy cup as well. He can't quite hold his bottle yet, so not sure how we are supposed to get him to hold on to a sippy cup. We gave him one with some formula in it and he didn't do too bad with it. I think he had more fun playing with it. I think we will get some juice and see how he likes that. The brochure we got from the doctor actually said that you should put juice in the cup, so we will need to get some this weekend.
Monday is Reagan's pre operation appointment with he urologist. We will find out more about the surgery and I think that they will tell us when we need to schedule the surgery.

Playing with Dad

Here's a video of Reagan and Darrell playing last night. When Reagan gets really excited about something, he snorts. It's hilarious!

Look at him sitting up! He does it a little longer each time. If only he could figure out how to get up on his own! He is also starting to get up on his hands and knees alot and kind of lunge forward. I don't think it's going to be too much longer and then we re going to be in a mad rush to baby proof the house.

I love this picture with he and I because one of his toys was sitting on the shelf behind him and it looks like he has a duck on his head.

Little Boy Scout

Got my camera back! I took these pictures of Reagan on July 3rd. Darrell had bought this outfit for him and calls it his Boy Scout outfit. I got him his super awesome hat at Old Navy.

These past couple of weeks have been pretty crazy. Last weekend was the 4th and a nice long weekend that I really wish we had more of. Darrell thought he was going to have to work through the weekend because the Legislature had started a special session the Wednesday before the 4th. Luckily, they got everything done finished up on Thursday, so Darrell ended up having Friday off as well.

Friday, I hung out with our friend Patti at Shady Grove and just kind of relaxed for the day. On the 4th, we lounged around most of the day because it was SO hot! Finally, around 10, we headed down towards San Marcos and went and hung out with Patti and her husband, John, in Martindale. They live really close to the river, so we took turns going down to the river and watching all of the tubers float by. Nice way to spend the 4th!

Yesterday was crazy busy for Reagan and I! A friend of mine that used to work with me was in town from Kansas with her little 2 1/2 year old, Emma. I met them and my friend, Cindy, that I work with at the mall at 10:30. We did some shopping and took turn holding kids and pushing strollers. It was Reagan's first time in the stroller without the carrier. He did really well, but we need to get some toys that attach to the stroller, because he got really board and the toys that I had given him kept ending up on the floor. We were at the mall for about 3 hours and other than fussing a little because he was just so tired, Reagan was a little trooper. He was asleep as soon as I put him in the car and took a short nap once we got home.

One of my work out buddies, Ann, had a birthday last Tuesday, so all of the girls met at Chuy's for dinner yesterday evening. Of course Reagan's presence was requested, so I took him with me. He was so unbelievably tired and it was pretty loud in the restaurant, so he was not really interested in hanging out with everyone. We had a good dinner and a quick visit and headed home. Then, my friend, Stephanie, came over and she and I headed down to New Braunfels to see Reckless Kelly. That's one of mine and Darrell's favorite local bands and I had not seen them in a year and a half, so it was so fun to go see them again. We even stopped by one of our old hangouts in San Marcos on the way home. It was a great day of friends and hanging with Reagan, but he and I were so worn out today from all of the excitement.

Today, was a day of regrouping, laundry, and getting ready for the week. We switched out Reagan's 3 month clothes for his 6 months clothes. He will be 6 months on Thursday. It's hard to believe that it has been that long already. He is trying SO hard to sit up, but just can't figure out how to get himself up. He will lay on his back and pick his head up and do what looks like a crunch. Darrell keeps saying that he's going to have the strongest abs of any baby. He can actually sit up on his one for short amounts of time. He just wants to move all the time and other than when he's sleeping, he has very little interest in lying down. His 6 month check up is on Thursday. I am interested to see how much he weighs now. He is getting so big!

I left my camera at Patti's on the 4th, so I don't have any photos other than these that Mom took at her house.
