Playing with cows, water fun, and a new class room
Saturday was a looooong day for Reagan. Darrell, Reagan and I headed down to Kyle because Darrell was helping a friend of his lay tile on his patio. All Reagan wanted to do was be outside with his Dad and he had a really hard time staying inside with the girls when he could see Dad just outside the window. We got down there about 10:30 and by 2, he had still not taken a nap and had just had enough. Even though they were only about three quarters of the way done, Rick knew Reagan was done and sent us home.
I had gotten a call Friday from my little cousin, Madison, who lives up by Dallas and shows cows in livestock shows for Future Farmers of America. She was at a show in Seguin and asked how close she was to us. When I told her it was only about 45 minutes away, we made plans to get together Saturday evening when she and her mom were on their way back up to Dallas. So, Madison called around 5 and said that they were in Austin, so we met them over at the Serrano's in Southpark Meadows for dinner. After dinner, Reagan got to go check out the cows. She had two heifers and a calf that is only a few months old. Reagan climbed right into the trailer with Madison to check things out. He petted the cows and gave them hugs and kisses, pulled their ears, and even got licked by one. Little did I know that we were going to have our own petting zoo in the parking lot of South Park Meadows!!
Sunday, Darrell, Reagan, and I had brunch over at Katz's Deli and then headed back home and lounged around for a while. I had gotten a text message Saturday evening from my friend,
Kathryn, asking if anyone was up for dinner and playing at her house on Sunday afternoon. So, Darrell made a salad and we headed over. Our friend, Dawn, and her family were there as well as another family and their 2 kids that are friends of Dawn's and Kathryn's. 4 little boys that are all pretty close to the same age are pretty amusing to watch!
So last Tuesday, Reagan had a note in his cubby when I picked him up from daycare that said he would be moving up to the next class room starting today. There were 6 kids in his class who all moved up to the next class. Each day last week, they would go spend 30-45 minutes in with the other class room to help them transition. So this morning, he started his new class. He is now in the 18 -24 month class even though he will only be 17 months next week. His new teachers said he had a really good day today and his daily report said that he was happy and he played well with others, so we were very happy about that! We are very pleased with the progress that he has made since starting daycare. He has started to say a few words. He says Momma, Yum-yum (when he's eating.), bye-bye, and he knows the sign language for "more." He tells us "more" when he want food now. He has started dancing alot and does so whenever he hears music. We also really like to see him interact with other kids. He's really doing well and just growing way faster than we had anticipated!
