Been a While....

Wow! I've totally been slacking in the blogging department! We are still here and despite a few bumps here and there, we are doing really well.

Darrell and I both started our new jobs and we are really enjoying them. I have sold my first few accounts at the new job and have a few more in the works. I work with a great group of folks and am having a good time with the girls that I work with. Darrell is doing a great job in his new role as a staff member for a Senator and the Senator is very pleased with Darrell's work. We went to a barbecue at the Senator's house a couple of weeks ago and the Senator said that he is so happy to have Darrell as part of his team.

I took my first out of town business trip the week before last to attend our semi-annual brokers conference at our home office in Dallas. I got to meet all of the other brokers from across all of our offices as well as the owner and CEO of our company. They were very nice and welcomed me to the company saying that they had heard great things about me and have high expectations for me. Pretty exciting!

We have been so busy these past couple of months. We have had birthday parties almost every weekend and managed to squeeze in a trip to Arlington to see the Rangers play the Red Sox twice on opening weekend. We stayed with our friends Tammy and John in Denton and they came with us to the Saturday evening game. Reagan really loves going to the baseball games and REALLY loves my friend Tammy, who he calls TeePee.

Dad is doing pretty well right now. He had a rough time with the chemo the last round. We think that he may not have been taking the right meds. He fell several times and other than some scrapes on his arms, he was ok, but it got to the point that he was afraid to take a shower because he kept falling. We ended up taking him to the oncologist and getting him admitted to the hospital for a couple of days and sure enough, he needed a heavy dose of the steroids to get him back where he needed to be. He hates the steroids so much, but without them, he starts to have temporary memory loss and has a hard time remembering much of anything. A side effect of the long term use of the steroids includes atrophy of the muscles, which was what was causing him to fall. His leg muscles were very week. He got some physical therapy for them and they showed him lots of exercises to do to keep the strength up, so he has really been working on that. Last week, he was even able to go out and walk around the block again, which he has not done for quite a while. He had another round of chemo pills this week and handled them much better than last time. Darrell and I have been going over every Sunday and making sure that he has all of his medicines in order for the week and I think that has really helped.

Reagan is just doing amazing. Saying more and more each day and pretty much talking in sentences. He still really enjoys going to school and has been having a great time going to his friends birthday parties and play dates with our friends and their kids. He is playing much better with other kids and has been working alot on his sharing. Reagan had his school Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday and had his Easter Party yesterday. We are looking forward to our Easter Egg Hunt here at the house tomorrow!

This is the first weekend in a long time that we have not had hardly anything to do, so we are definitley going to enjoy that!
