Reagan went in the potty!

Every since Reagan was big enough to walk, he's had a frog potty upstairs and a little puppy potty downstairs. He has never gone on the, but he will often say he has to potty and go and sit on them. Part of his bathtime routine is going into his room and getting his frog potty from under his crib and pulling it into the bathroom and sitting on it for a minute before he gets into the bath.

Right after the new year, Reagan moved into his new class room, which is the two year old room. His old teachers told me that the teachers in the 2 year old room will work with them on potty training. One of the first days of his new class, I asked the teacher what we needed to do. She said that she follows the lead of what the parents are doing and she usually doesn't start working with them until they have been in the class for a while. He will be in this class for 6 months before he is moved up again, so she suggested that we wait until March or so to start really working on it unless he showed more interest in it earlier. I let her know that we talk about potty ALOT, but we would wait for a while.

Last weekend, we got some Pull-Ups and we got a little potty seat that sits on the regular toilet. He's been sitting on it some this past week, but we haven't put any Pull-Ups on him. This morning, I decided to try it out. I put the Pull-Up on him and he was very excited because they had Buzz and Woody on them and he LOVES Toy Story. I told him to make sure not to go potty in his Buzz and Woody pants and to make sure to tell Mom and Dad if he needs to go. He told us several time that he needed to go and we put him on the potty and nothing and then the 3rd or 4th time we put him on the potty, he pooped! We were excited and you could tell he was very proud of himself. I'm sure we have a long process ahead of us, but we are thrilled that he has already gone!
